This is my ONC 2024 Award submission. I am using the following prompt:

83. Earths climate is becoming increasingly inhospitable. Humans have identified another planet to live on, but there's not enough room on the spacecraft for everyone. Who stays and who goes?

It is 2143 and the Earth has been drained of all natural resources and is dying. Infertility has also caused the decline of the human race. 

A plan to ensure the survival of the human race has been set in motion.

A dark secret, breaking all human laws, orbits the earth.

Ki, a girl from earth, battles to survive, she leaves everything she knows behind to try to uncover the truth to save her life and the future of the human race.

With the help of two unlikely friends, Ki battles to discover the truth of her father's scientific work and to keep her ability to have children hidden. 

The last hope of human kind is to explore other worlds for resources and a place to colonise, who will be chosen to undertake this deadly, but imperative mission?

This book, Ice Giant | Death Horizons, is the first in a series of books that introduce you to frightening and beautiful worlds in the universe and introduce you to three people who are thrown together, building bonds that will be tested to the limits.
