Many generations past, and humans have evolved with greed. They now refer to themselves as superior, and break the ancient rules. Only kill to survive. Sometimes the end is just that, the end. And sometimes it is a new beginning. When a prophecy seemingly seems to be a lie and nothing more destiny has some tricks up her sleeve, but nothing in this world comes easy, not even things which ought to be obvious. A child of a dying world meets people of a very different culture and lifestyle, will she be welcome? Will she adapt, and will her dreams ever come true?

Every year, the Lady chooses one of us to commune with. If this unfortunate person succeeds at pleasing her, she blesses the harvest and we have food for the year. If they fail to please her, she curses the harvest and we starve.

When a prophecy is given that can bring life or death, choices are made, and lives are changed. But were those choices the right ones, and were the lives changed for the better?
