Lucy Cartwright is helping her older brother Hoss and twin brother Joe to deliver glycerine, but she feels the boys aren't giving her credit for the work she's doing. Soon, after she and Joe have an argument, she tries to prove herself, but it ends up getting her in the shack when the cat knocks over the bottle, causing an explosion and Lucy to go blind. Now, she must go through life, possibly forever, without her sight. Meanwhile, Joe feels that he is responsible for what happened to Lucy and won't come near her, irritating her further. Can the twins work their feelings out? And what happens when Miss Dobbs from the Blind Institute comes to teach Lucy?
Based on the episode "The Stillness Within", and told from my OC, Lucy's, POV.
This story is about the youngest member of the Shelby family, Vive. Together with her brothers she grows up under the smoke of Small Heath. Surrounded with danger and death, it's not easy being little. Luckily, Vive has her older brothers and especially Tommy, who fills in some kind of father role for her. During war her brothers had to go through a lot. Little did they know, life wasn't all sunshine and roses for Vive either.
After a tragic accident, the Shelby family seems to fall apart and Vive's life is turned upside down. Will love keep the Peaky Blinders together?
