Ranboo is a nineteen year old merman. There's not much to his life, other than the fact that he's a merman. You may think it would be fun to be a merman or mermaid or merperson or whatever, but it's actually pretty boring. There's nothing to do besides swimming, swimming, and swimming some more. Ranboo's father is the king/god of the ocean. Now, that's pretty cool, right? Wrong! His father doesn't let him do anything. He has to stay at the castle all day and night doing jack shit. One day, when Ranboo sneaks out to go to the peer, he spots a boy, maybe just a year or two younger than him, in an unsafe ordeal. Ranboo's quick thinking saves the boy, and then Ranboo's life starts to change. Tommy is left torn between the decision to stay with Dream or leave with nothing but a compass to guide him. But the direction the compass will guide him will lead to nonother than the man who exiled him in the first place... Tubbo (I will only do cannon ships in Dream SMP for this fanfic) (Also I will have to change a lot stuff from the original plot so everything fits here)

In the ""wise"" words of c!Ranboo, "choose people not sides." Sometimes, though, you have to choose a side. Tommy's lived in the same town forever, his two older brothers taking care of him and all the other crimes in the city as the top heroes after the death of their parents. From running around town with Tubbo (and maybe Ranboo sometimes) to skipping school (also with Tubbo), Tommy could probably take on the world as long as he had his best friend beside him. However, when you're assigned a side from birth, it's hard not to have enemies...... ~ ~ ~ Mostly Tommy's perspective, some angst so TWs will be listed at the beginning of those chapters. Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo are 17, Techno and Wilbur are 21, everyone else is up to your imagination. Updates every other day unless I forget. This is my first story! Enjoy :) - Rix Cover by Tin :)
