In her free time, she spends time with ten-year-old Bruce Wayne and is a business partner/sister figure to Thomas Wayne. 

Arthur Fleck was a nobody, always talked bad about and always looked at with repulsion due to his condition. No one but his 'mother' loved him. Until Veronica Jackson caught some teenage boys beating him up and chasing them off.  That started a chain of events that no one could ever imagine happening.
