just an FYI: I'm not a professional writer so this book won't be the best
here's a breif description of the book:

In a town called Rocklight, a 16 year old boy named River is your normal quiet kid. He is smart, has a few friends, and likes to hang out in his room. River was also gay causing him to get bullied but he didn't care. One day as he was walking in the school halls when he saw someone from his history class staring at him. This person was named Jay. Jay was pretty quiet as well, but not like River. River noticed him staring and just kept walking. River felt weird after having eye contact with Jay, what could this mean?
