Astarion sharpens his blades as he takes in his new companions their first few nights at camp in Faerun. A diverse group of survivors all dealing with brain parasites that could turn them into mind flayers. Astarion is a vampire who can now endure sunlight thanks to the parasites. Astarion becomes intrigued by Lizbeth, a confident and attractive new companion. Their interactions escalate into a sensual encounter, hidden from the prying eyes of the camp. Astarion, attempting to keep his vampire nature hidden, accidentally bites Lizbeth during their passionate moment. Lizbeth, confused by the interaction, is left with mixed feelings and alone to contemplate their complicated connection amid their challenging journey.
