"That's enough, Luke." I said, staring at his piercing blue eyes, "I can't. We can't. It's just not gonna work."
"But I can figure something out!" Luke said, raising his voice as he moved closer to me. I backed away and unlocked my car, putting the bags in the trunk.
"You've had all summer to figure something out, and now you're willing to try?" I laughed bitterly, slamming the trunk shut.
"I know, but I can make this work," Luke said, grabbing my hand.
I looked at our hands and all of the memories came flooding back to me. What if he could make this work? Could this all really be different?
"I know you can," I said, pulling my hand away from his, "but I never said that I could."

"You just can't save me." She would say. "I can try." He whispered as she drifted off to sleep. Her name was Ashton. She suffered from depression since age 8, been cutting since age 10, and starving since age 12. She knew from the beginning she had to hide it from any wandering eyes or curious friends.
