Charlie was no stranger to...being a stranger. That's kind of what happened when you moved around so often. No place to call home, no grown up to trust, no safe place.
She used to find her safe place in stuff she knew wasn't really safe at all. She probably still would if she hadn't got pregnant. One stupid night.
Not that she was insanely popular before, but slowly, Charlie became the outcast. The outcast at school, at her foster home, when just walking round. People seemed to forget the power of being kind, she thought. She thought no one would ever be kind again.
But little did she know, that her next home would be her last home, and that for this family, the unexpected was kind of their normal.
