You go to your mother's house to celebrate her birthday. The gathering is interrupted by a government announcement telling your family about a deadly disease. You drive your family to Atlanta, hoping to keep them safe, but the roads are blocked up. That night, you watch as Atlanta is bombed straight to hell.

Two months pass and your group goes to Atlanta to grab supplies when you meet a man that doesn't seem to know what's going on. He helps you get back to camp but none of you are too keen about the stranger, who you soon come to find is named Rick, and are weary of him.

This fic takes place during seasons 1-5 of The Walking Dead and is a VERY slow burn. It is mainly light fluff and comfort between the reader and Daryl in this book. The 2nd book will take place during season 6-11 and maybe the Daryl Dixon TV show, that book will contain more romance, this one is mainly a backstory and developing friendship.

There will be a few parts where their bromance turns into developing romantic feelings.
