It's been just seven years since over eighty percent of the world's population died unexpectedly; either because of odd, new creatures that no-one had ever seen before or just dying in the blink of an eye. Cause unknown. Two of those people were Stella and Tommy Blake's parents. At the ages of eight (Tommy) and eleven (Stella), horrified by the recent developments and convinced of their upcoming deaths, they are separated in those first few days.
