"I always knew there was something eccentric about the Gates, but I did not think that they had the audacity to barge into someone's house and start making claims of a stolen key." "Do you know anything about them, Mother?" "I wish I did. Most I know is that Connor Gates is known for giving good advice."

'Agent Dark' was originally supposed to be called 'The Gates'. The idea was that the story would be centered around the secret identity of the villainous character, Connor Gates. The story was to be told by eighteen-year-old Hodesh Hushim who was the one assigned to find out who really was impersonating Connor Gates.
Then, as the story gradually grew, the plot twist of it changed and so did the title. Yes, the identity of Connor Gates was still on board but, it later came to be a distraction for Hodesh. The story then became about Hodesh, a girl who writes an application form to an antique store then ends up working for the Disturbed Agency.
She is told that she is working for the good guys but later realizes that she's not. Her family is somehow entangled in the agency and she finds out that her father was involved in the disappearance of her stepfather.
Hodesh makes it her mission to find out why and also tries her best to find out who is the man impersonating Connor Gates but, each time she is close to the answer she seems to go two steps backwards...
