While Pete hadn't expected a normal life when he left his job to follow Vegas, he had expected something quieter than Vegas needing a lengthy hospital stay, finding out Gun and his own father had a sordid extramarital affair, and obtaining a magical and meddling weighted blanket from Tesco that forces him to share dreams with his boyfriend's mother.
His boyfriend's dead mother. Or at least Milan was supposed to be dead. But according to the dream version of her, she and her sister-in-law are very much alive and trapped in an unknown location. Apparently saving them all comes down to Pete and anyone else he can convince that he hasn't completely lost it.

I have a friend in a homosexual relationship who's being called by his bf as 'wife' hehe. In the Christmas special of KP novel, I concluded Pete is okay with this since Vegas refers to him as his wife and he doesn't complain.)
