A series of sudden awakenings of people gaining super powers has caused the stability of the world to hang by a thread. Individuals identified as Mutants, are pursued by the United Nations with the expressed purpose of ensuring the continued safety of humanity, containment and study.

Tobias Pines, a young cop from Australia is suddenly caught up in this new world wide phenomena, when he and his brother, Michael Thorn are identified as Mutant's and captured by the UN organisation... The Superhuman Containment and Apprehension Regiment (SCAR). Now stuck in a situation where he is not considered human by the rest of the world, and forced to live with these powers, he must help SCAR capture any Mutant's and find the source of the random awakenings.
