When Emily's mother dies, when Emily is only a year old, from a drunk drive, her father is left to raise an infant on his own. He eventually remarries hoping for a mother for his daughter. What he didn't expect was cancer to ravage his body.

Emily is now left with a step mother and step sister who treat her like a real life Cinderella. Her step mother move them across town, closer to her work. Which means a new school, new friends, and possibly new opportunities.

Trying to keep her dads boxing gym running, with the help of her godfather, her step mother trying to get her greedy hands on Emily's inheritance and her step sister making her life miserable; Emily is just trying to get through her last year of high school, so she can get into nursing school and away from her step mother.

What Emily didn't expect were friends who will rock her world.
