Being the daughter of two deltas leads to a boring life of young miss Valerie Green, but within Valerie, contains a vibrant imagination that forbids such boringness to overcome her. She has curiosity, and it is a costly quality for the young heroine. This quality is one that can even lead Valerie close to death, and it just might push her over the edge of an awaiting cliff. When Valerie finds an intruder in her home office stealing papers, she follows him into the depths of an unusual forest. There, she finds secrets that even curiosity itself dare not find. Don't look for it, for him, and above all don't look for me.

After dealing with a serial killer in the small town, Lakewood, Detective Malia Weston follows in her dad Gabe Weston's footsteps and becomes a cop. Her father, who is now the police chief, assigns her and Detective Damon Ramos to cold case files. After meeting with Abby Fulton, Malia's best friend, and Damon's twin sister, someone attacks Malia viciously with a message - curiosity killed the cat. Malia becomes obsessed with the person who attacked her as murders pop up in Lakewood. A new detective transfers to Lakewood to help find a serial killer copying the Lakewood Serial Killer. What happens when Malia comes face-to-face with her past? Will it endanger her and ruin her future, or will it be what she needs? If you want to catch a killer, you have to think like one. As they say, curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.
