I thought all the beloved daughters of fantasy novels were soft-hearted.

But, well... no.

Not all the beloved daughters were soft-hearted.  Well, most of them were, but NOT ME.

"Why don't you smile, Eloise?" said the male lead,

"...'cause I don't know how to smile?" I shrugged.
