Avatar: The Legend Reborn - Book 1: Hope
The Legend Reborn is a story I wrote in late 2014 about the Avatar after Korra. After the release of the Legend of Korra follow up comics I went back and added references to the events of the comics but didn't change my story. Following the 2021 announcement of Avatar Studios I decided to share my ideas since it's very possible Bryke could decide to continue the Avatar Cycle and render my story implausible. I hope they instead decide to go backwards (possibly a Kyoshi series) since there are also many other great fan projects that would be rendered implausible by a Korra sequel (notably The Legend of Genji, a project very different from my own but has my respect and admiration). But who am I to disagree with what Mike and Bryan do with their own fantastic universe. Hope you all enjoy the story. 😊 Disclaimer: I do not own or have any rights to Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, or any other content (present or future) from this universe. This story follows the first born child of the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik of the Omaticaya clan. Older sister to Neteyam, Lo'ak, Kiri, and Tuktirey. She was raised to be the perfect balance of Neytiri and Jake, maybe a little too perfect. Follow her story as she has to give up the only life she has ever known to keep her people safe. --**-- My grandmother notices my frozen state and makes her way to me. "My child..." I turn to look at her, "do not be afraid of life, do not be afraid of fate, be afraid of doing nothing to change it." As the words leave her lips, it sparks a dying fire in my heart. A fire I thought would extinguish along with my title. I smile and pull her into a hug, "I will find my way back to you one day..." I whisper in her ear. "I know, and when you do, you will be a different person. I cannot wait to meet her." With her final words, and a newfound light in my soul, I turn to follow my family down the pathway. I reach the end and mount Kxitx, and with one last look at my clan, I pull my headpiece over my forehead, yip to signal takeoff, and burst from the ground like a sapling reaching to the sun.
