'It is a legal requirement that every human above the age of twenty-one and every low-ranked vampire must donate their blood every month unless given exemption due to extenuating circumstances.'
Beaufort 'Bo' Whyte, a freshly turned low-ranked vampire, must now visit a blood collection site to have his blood re-tested. Bo was exempt from donating his blood as a human, but with him having turned, hopes are his blood will be sufficient enough to supply to higher vampires.
While bloodbanks were a normal concept of the world he lived in, what wasn't was encountering an extremely dominant pureblooded vampire, especially not two.

The war between vampires and angels had to be kept secret from human kind, and the species had to stay apart. "What I was going to say was selfish..." He mumbled. I edge closer to him until my hand slowly cradled his cheek. Tilting his head up to look at me. "Please let me know what it was." Always thought it was fascinating how when he runs you can't see it. Being a vampire must be...fascinating. Yet he makes it out to be hell. I can't understand that kind of complicity of being a vampire and the issues. I get it, they drink blood. Though there's multiple things beside humans that offer blood! He acts like it's so horrific.
