At first glance, Farain is a country of peace and prosperity. Behind the scenes, its lowliest citizens toil to mine the crystals that keep the country running, and discontent is spreading among the people like a sickness.
Hayden Marsh's father is a very powerful man, as he controls the crystal distribution lines. He has seemed a bit on edge of late, with a journey to the capital Sky City of Zyrin next on his agenda. This time, Hayden is excited to accompany his father and get a glimpse of the greatest city ever built.
