Hey, guys, welcome to my rewrite of Wish! Now I want to make it clear that I don't think the original movie is necessarily bad, and if you like it just the way it is, that's great! It's just that after seeing all the scrapped concepts and the fanfictions, fan art, fan animations, and rewrites others have developed, I find it hard not to fantasize on what might have been. While I am drawing from various other rewrites I've seen across the Internet, this is mostly meant to be my own personal idea of how the movie should've gone. Similar for the rewrites for The 100 I made a few years ago, this is mostly going to read more like a Wikipedia summary rather than a conventional fanfiction, as I don't really have the patience to adapt it into that format.

Everything has its place
Thomas' new life began in a metal box lurching through an elevator shaft. Confused, scared and filled with curiosity, he thinks the boys laughing maliciously at him are going to roast him over an open fire and eat him. When that doesn't happen, he's left with too many questions about who he is and where he came from. In his heart, though, he knows that he must become a Runner. A boy who is chosen to run through their prison, a Maze, and find an escape. This is a rewrite of the Maze Runner movies. I don't really know if rewrite is the right word, but I'm using this as an opportunity to practice my writing. It'll follow the structure of the movies with minor adjustments, especially just now in the first one. Later on more adjustments will happen, I think. I also want to include Newt/Thomas in this rewrite as I find the ship cute. My writing is a bit clunky and all-over-the-place but I hope you enjoy :) Please feel free to offer constructive criticism. It will always be welcome. Also, feel free to point out any mistakes or things that don't make sense? I've also posted this on AO3 under the same name :)

Alright so this is going to take place before the actual movie. I have not seen the movie yet but I have read the prequel comics and the comic adaptation of the movie. The Ghost Of UA (Rewrite edition)
This story is a rewrite of my fanfiction on MHA that I wrote around 4 years ago. It had a lot of flaws and absolutely ZERO planning !!! Just wrote it as I went along. Wrote the story when I was 12. I'm 16 now so let's see if I have still got the skill of writing. This rewrite will be modernised, better plot so much to the point that the story will feel a whole lot different, a whole lot less cringe. (There was like too much cringe every chapter). And no ships at all. If yall are here for the ships i recommend you find another fanfic to read as this is not the story for that. So let's get into it.

I am republishing this for a friend who wanted to read a sample of my work. The plot is all over the place, but I know I'll revisit it in future. I initially wrote this in 2017 before I knew a lot of things I know now. There's a lot in here that is culturally insensitive. I have done my best to edit out what I could find at first glance, but if you see something glaringly offensive please make a comment about it so that I can correct my errors. The most egregious example that comes to mind is using the G-word for the Romani and relying on unflattering stereotypes. I plan to correct a lot of this in proceeding drafts.
