Feng Shu, granddaughter of Heavenly Emperor Huangchen has been cultivating for over 1,000 years to become a goddess and is in the final stages of her cultivation. The final steps she must go through; the mortal trial, experiencing the seven hardships of life as a mortal being and once that is completed, she must endure the 50 holy lightning strikes to attain godhood.

Towards the end of her mortal trial, Feng Shu's experience of the seven hardships has proven to be quite a challenge. Many say "finishing the trail is getting a past life. To succeed in and forget all altogether."

However, Fengshu's last step gets altered when a temporary lover of the past ends up getting in the way of her destiny.
