The story is inspired by a news story, but with a less happy outcome than in the story.
Telling or reading the story leads us to think about the problem of plastic in the sea, an issue that after the EU decisions to outlaw some plastic products was on everyone's lips, before of course being overshadowed by the covid emergency.

The story is aimed at children aged 5 to 7/8. The story is simple, but not without twists.
A child goes to the beach in the morning at dawn with his grandfather. He discovers a dying whale (not a little frightened since he has never seen one up close). The whale is not well but we do not understand why. The grandfather takes matters into his own hands and with the help of a friend manages to put the whale back on its feet (this one, with a colossal vomit, will get rid of thousands of plastic objects that over time he had carelessly swallowed while swimming in the sea). Small final twist and happy ending.
