Despite enduring rigorous training a year, he faced relentless bullying, becoming an outcast within the unit. The trio of tormentors, Crews Eleazar, Adams Rainville, and Genco Morgan, subjected him to shame and humiliation. Struggling to keep up, Cyrus contemplated quitting and even attempted suicide. His salvation came unexpectedly in the form of training corps "Maverick," Emmick Dunbar, altering the course of Cyrus's journey.

On graduation day, the 2018 Combat Line is deployed to the Midland following the devastating loss of half of Kasmira's forces to the Casentine military. Confronted with a formidable and uncharted adversary, the Combat Line must navigate increasingly perilous conditions. With the Casentine military's superior lethality and the lack of a concrete strategy from Kasmiran leadership, the soldiers are compelled to engage in combat without a definitive plan, continuously adapting their tactics and summoning the fortitude required for real warfare. Throughout the year, Cyrus and his comrades will endure unprecedented brutality, confront the loss of cherished companions, and fervently hope for their survival.
