I will do anything to keep the smile on my nephews little face, but I saw something on my sisters coffee table amongst the paper work that made me question if Jamie my six year old nephew is safe and if not, can I get the mysterious policeman Liam, who I call 'beast' since he is so intimidating, to help me Emilia or as he calls me 'Tinkerbell'? It's obvious that Liam gets all the women to fall at his feet, I'm usually not the main character the way my life goes, more of the sarcastic, curvy best friend. But the butterflies I feel when I'm near him and small glances he gives me can't help but make me feel different, this has nothing to do with romance, I'm only getting him to help Jamie and when it's done but that's it. I've never been the main character, especially not with a love interest that I know won't happen and it's not going to start now. Besides I am more of a side character anyway...right?
*FIRST BOOK IN THE Dear My Sanity SERIES*
"Look at your hands. Their blood is on your hands."
Jamie stares at her blood covered hands. She clenches her jaw, a muffled scream coming from her. I let her scream but I look around, knowing the police would come soon. If she wants to avoid being caught, she needs to get over her little crisis already.
"Get up," I say quickly, going over and grabbing onto her arm to pull her up. "Come on, the police will be coming soon. You're not going to jail."
She struggles against me, screaming, "No! You're going to kill me if I go with you."
"This all can be erased," I insisted. The wailing of sirens tells me I need to convince her quickly.
Jamie pauses, thinking hard. "Fine," she says. "Let's go then."
I say no more as I run. She picks up my pace and follows me as I lead her away from her first murders and into her new life. I think it's one she'll fit well into.
