The Winged
Surviving can be difficult when you're only a few inches tall. Fanged beasts see you as their prey, every creature is bigger than you, and the world seems to work against small things. Not to mention the struggles of getting from place to place... but the worst of it all? Humans. Once a year, every year, summer sweeps over the forest. The sun warms the leaves and the damp melts away until the world of the Winged flourishes. Those warm months are when survival becomes the hardest. Drawn by the beauty of the forest, humans of all kind invade the already dangerous home of the small Winged people. Fear of these monsters is shared throughout the tribes. One sacred piece of advice is known: avoid humans at all costs. They know only how to destroy and hurt. ___ Despite the protests of her close friend, Azure accepts a mission that takes her from the safety of her tribe. I Survived Them (Under Reconstruction)
Yes, this is yet another Predator Fanfiction. (If you enjoy a good book that's a something a little "different" than your average story, I believe you have found your choice of poison...) [Highest Rank: No. 1 in the #yautja tag.] Our story begins with Eden Forakre. A nearly 16 year old human girl from the year 1987. She saw the blockbuster "Predator" after it came out in theaters for the very first time. The exact same night, Eden's father is framed for murder, and her life falls apart before her very eyes. After that, she runs away, hoping to find a better home. Then, in the forest, she hears a round of inhuman clicks and snarls. Next she--...Well you can probably guess who Eden thought that was. After abduction, Eden must live through the trials and challenges presented by the Yautja themselves. More specifically, a certain "him"... I could go further with the description, but I don't want to spoil anything. I guess you're going to have to read the book to find out what happens! Enjoy! The After Effects
After it all happened, the Plague created what feels like a whole new world. Survivors created new lives for themselves and carried on with their lives. Me? April 22 I've been walking for days, they're still tracking me though. i sleep high in the trees, I double back, walk in the river, cover my tracks, start false trails...it's all slowing me down but it's really the only chance I have. I'm on foot. I'm alone. The day the grid went down I was in the mountains and I stayed put for over a month, unable to contact anyone. The electricity is out, the phones don't work, no running water, no cars, no radio...nothing. It's dangerous to go into towns now, survivors are scared, starving and dying by the thousands, but their bodies seem to just disappear. Sometimes I hear screams in the night that sound like they come straight from the depths of Hell, and the scent of sulphur and rot rides on the breeze when the heaviest clouds block out the sun. I think it's the thing that got Dan...the thing that's almost gotten me.
