Dana is in the midst of a society that has formed out of people's various suspicions and alliances. To exist, it relies heavily on the fact that everyone accepts it as normal, and those allowed to see the truth have been altered to not care. But Dana is different; her dead mother has given her a pair of intricately crafted earrings which make her more aware of the world around her, and tendrils of suspicion weave into her everyday life of crafting snares and sparring against other pre-Transforms. But will she have time to do something before her upcoming Transformation?
