Tragedy strikes into the heart of the ninja team. Everything changes in a heartbeat and the ninja are suddenly struggling to hold their mission, and their team, together. Things get rocky when the argument of revenge is brought up, setting one ninja apart from the rest and pitting brother against brother.
	But what the ninja don't know is that they only have half the truth. Surprises are waiting around the corner--surprises neither the weak nor strong are ready for. And once everything is revealed, the division and grief amongst the team may poison them completely--and take away the little life they have left.

There, they prepare to protect the Water Crystal, but for a while all is quiet. Then in the blink of an eye, Kai is accused of a crime he didn't commit. King Alec is determined to put the red ninja behind bars as the ninja team comes up with their own plan to clear their brother's name. But as the accusations and confusion dive deeper, doubt passes through the team and they begin to question what they're doing. Stories mix together and they no longer know who is telling the truth and who is lying. Just when all seems to be crashing down, an outside force jumps in to help, but one wrong move could cause pain or even death to, not just Kai, but the only friend the red ninja has left. Skylor. The team is stuck in Lost Rock until Lloyd satisfies Ronin, but the other ninja grow concerned as it seems the green ninja's Baddie side is resurfacing. Between Ronin's dangerous tasks and Chelsea's wild lifestyle, Lloyd is pushed to his limits, and his sickness is this close to putting him on his deathbed. Yet the team has no time to rest, for twists in their mission still follow everywhere they go. Lloyd isn't the only one who must risk himself for the good of Ninjago, and both those considered good and those seen as bad must decide the purpose behind their fight. Through sacrifice of the noble and dishonorable, grief of souls already on the verge of breaking, and perseverance of only those sure of their place, true intentions will be revealed, relationships will be broken or mended, and both sides of the War will struggle for first place. A turn in fate--or prophecy--leads the second Elemental Alliance and the Sons of Darkness to one final stand, where the ninja will learn just who is a friend, and who is merely an ally... and what it truly means to be a hero.
