Love. Hate. The two will not be separated.
The Darkrealm has claimed its queen and so has Dain, but that doesn't mean we like each other. We are bound closer than many other fae are ever shackled with. Our days are filled with fighting - others as much as each other - and our nights with passion and love.
And amid Feyrith's insistence we placate the other courts with my loyalty, the Shaden demand Dain and I...date. Ugh. Apparently, it's not good enough to be in love. Now we have to fall in like as well. Our friends have placed yet another bond on us in the form of geas that we'll work on it.
They control us. He controls me. I am getting some measure of control over him now.
But no amount of external control can stop truths coming to light, stop the darkness from extinguishing all that's good in our lives. When a member of the Shaden and Dain's gaol gets taken from us, the prisoner fights for its freedom and I might be the only one who can him.
I'm nothing. A bastard no one trusts or likes or wants. But I will have to accept my heritage and my destiny if I want to keep the fae I might be starting to like.
