"I need you." Carl's sobs are barely audible as he swallows the growing lump in his throat. I take a step closer to him, cupping his cheek with my hand before using my thumb to wipe away a few stray tears. He buries his head in my shoulder and I pull him closer to me, embracing him in a hug. He wraps his arms around me like his life depends on it, his cries muffled against my jacket. I kiss the side of his head, rubbing small circles in his back to calm him.
"Shh. You have me."

"Dale.." The words died in Riven's throat as he turned to look at Dale. Dale was lying on the ground, and his eyes were wide, horrified. His stomach was ripped open, and he was panting and moaning in pain, gurgling. Riven fell to his knees beside him, shaking his head in denial. Not Dale, Dale can't die, not him. "Just.. just hold on," "Help! We need help over here!" Riven shouted as loud as he could, hoping the others could hear him. "Shit, fuck, what do i do?" Tears welled up in his eyes as he removed his jacket, his hands were shaking as he placed his jacket over Dale's stomach causing Dale to gurgle. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, old man.. help!" Dale's hand touched his arm, and Riven looked at him as tears slid down his face, blurring his vision, but Riven could see Dale reaching for his knife. "No, no, we can.. Hershel can help you." He was trying to convince himself that Dale wasn't dying, but there was no hope for Dale. He was in pain, and he was asking for mercy. An older-looking guy stepped towards me and my eyes flashed directly to his bat. It was a wooden baseball bat with what looked like some kind of wire around it. My eyes widened up in fear and I began to have a panic attack. The guy's face immediately softened, "Back up, she's just a kid!" He whispered sharply and pushed the Freddie Krueger looking guy out of the way, and knelt down in front of me. "What's your name, sweetheart?" He spoke so low I could barely hear him. I didn't answer and just stared at the bat that was not even two feet from my face. "I'm trying to help you." His voice got sterner, and that just made me even more scared but I forced words out of my mouth. "F-Faye," I whispered, winching due to the fact it's been so long since I've spoken. The man nodded, then stood up and held out his hand. I looked up at him, and he nodded towards my ankle. "I've got stuff in the RV over there, I can help."
