The Hopeless and the Hatchling

After the death of her parents, Irene finds herself forced to move into a small mountain town in West Virginia with her great aunt who she hadn't even seen in seven years. Unable to integrate into her new surroundings, she flees into the caves and picks up the hobby of spelunking. There, she finds a beast that was previously believed to be a myth. She finds a dragon. She thought she would meet her end in that cave. But this creature quickly became the most important thing in her seemingly meaningless life. Little did she know just how important the mystery behind her new friend would be for the fate of all.
