In the aftermath of sparing Abby's life, Ellie struggles to live with the weight of her past. Isolated and quietly ostracized within the Jackson community because of her immunity, she finds herself more alone than ever. Everything changes when Ellie learns about Joyce - another immune individual who vanished years ago, and the younger cousin of Cat, a ghost from Ellie's own history. Driven by guilt and a desperate need for purpose, Ellie sets out for Minnesota alongside Cat to find her. But their journey quickly spirals into something far more dangerous. Abby and Lev are pursuing the same goal, and old wounds resurface as rival factions close in. Amid violence and shifting alliances, Ellie forms an unexpected and deeply personal bond with Joyce. Now, with the Fireflies closing in and the promise of a cure within reach, Ellie finds herself standing at the same crossroads Joel once faced.
