"With his back still to the woman, he turned his head in an attempt to look back at her. 'I love you,' he whispered, making sure it wasn't loud enough for every feeble ear.
The woman splayed on the floor, blood gushing from her leg, quietly responded, 'So did I.' Sorrow filled her gaze. Sorrow for herself, her lifeless husband, her children, and sorrow for the man she once loved, who was now corrupted by darkness and power. The kind of power that would never make him happy."
