"I enrolled myself in the high school. Sometimes I didn't, sometimes I did. I could go years without going to school, but on a whim, I enrolled to see where it took me. It was a way to pass the time. Time is something I have an abundance of, had to spend it on something. School would be a perfect waste of some of it."

Tired of her nomadic life, Zoe decides to rent a cabin, find a job, and enroll in high school.

Again.

Her driver's license says she's 17, but those can be faked. She's like the wind, drifting through life, just passing through on her way to nowhere. Untethered, alone, closed off. It's easier to shut out the world, shut out people then to open herself to the pain of goodbyes.

Because she isn't 17. She's outlived everyone she's ever loved, so she chooses to love no one. Besides, she's probably not even human.

Then she meets Sawyer, makes some friends, finds a bracelet, and learns who and what she is. But there are choices she must make that could change everything.

(NOTE: This book is unfinished, and I haven't looked at my notes for it in years, so not sure how best to write this description other than what I have now. I am excited to see how this story ends! I don't even know all my plans for it! What an adventure!)
