"I enrolled myself in the high school. Sometimes I didn't, sometimes I did. I could go years without going to school, but on a whim, I enrolled to see where it took me. It was a way to pass the time. Time is something I have an abundance of, had to spend it on something. School would be a perfect waste of some of it." Tired of her nomadic life, Zoe decides to rent a cabin, find a job, and enroll in high school. Again. Her driver's license says she's 17, but those can be faked. She's like the wind, drifting through life, just passing through on her way to nowhere. Untethered, alone, closed off. It's easier to shut out the world, shut out people then to open herself to the pain of goodbyes. Because she isn't 17. She's outlived everyone she's ever loved, so she chooses to love no one. Besides, she's probably not even human. Then she meets Sawyer, makes some friends, finds a bracelet, and learns who and what she is. But there are choices she must make that could change everything. (NOTE: This book is unfinished, and I haven't looked at my notes for it in years, so not sure how best to write this description other than what I have now. I am excited to see how this story ends! I don't even know all my plans for it! What an adventure!)

In a world where the future isn't written but echoed, 17-year-old Lila hears the whispers of events yet to happen - but they're not hers. The echo she's been hearing for months is someone else's life, someone's fate, and that someone is in danger. As she tries to uncover the identity of the person behind the mysterious echoes, Lila finds herself caught in a web of secrets, shadowy figures, and a powerful organization that will do anything to keep their plans hidden. Can she stop what's coming before it's too late, or will the echoes become her own fate? First Chapter (Excerpt): I've always heard things. It started when I was younger - whispers of something I couldn't see, couldn't understand. At first, it was just faint sounds, like voices drifting from another world. But by the time I was sixteen, those whispers turned into something more - echoes. Clear, distinct, and impossible to ignore. It's strange. Most people think the future is something that hasn't happened yet. But for me, it's not that simple. I hear the future. The thing is, the future I hear isn't mine. I've been hearing her - a girl I don't know, yet know everything about. Her life, her fears, her pain. I can't explain how, but I hear her voice every night, calling out for help. I don't know her name. I don't know her face. All I know is that something horrible is coming for her. And if I can't stop it... then her fate might echo into mine. Tonight, I hear her again. The echo sharpens, clearer than ever before. "Help me, Lila. It's happening. They're coming." The echo fades. And just like that, I'm left with a choice - follow the voice, or ignore it and risk the consequences. I don't know why it's me she's calling to, but I can't just do nothing. I owe it to her. And to myself.
