The steps he took forward, coming closer to me, made my breath be snatched away as black dots blurred my vision. What's happening? It took me a moment to realize he had stopped as well, pain etching to his god-like features. My ribs enclosed around my chest, my knees gave out and I fell to the ground in front of my mate.

"We are not meant to be." Was spoken once he had stepped a good distance away, my eyes were drowning in tears as he spoke those words. I had finally managed to find the breath that was forcefully taken away from me to speak, "What's happening?"
