The flame had been relit countless times, as the lords devoted not only their souls, but their wills, their beliefs, even their bodies to the flame. And now, the flame once again fights against the harsh world around, a hungry darkness waiting patiently for the last ember to fall into ash, longing to consume the world and bring about the Age of Dark. So who would continue the age of fire? Who would be able to face a world that wouldn't want them there, rather one that longed for the end?

Witches are stealing human bodies. They use them to deceive other humans, to slaughter them, devour them whole. The only way they can die is by fire, and when fire is involved, things burn. With the gods absent and the world ablaze, its up to the witch-slayers to put it out. But it's a losing battle. Gremaud has nothing and wants nothing but the strength to save his burning kingdom from fire. But prophecy follows in the wake of his comrade, the chosen one. Visited by Smoke, a mysterious voice carried by wind, he is warned against his own will, but is left with only envy for his comrade- and hate. The chosen one is Adler, and he's the strongest soldier the Old Dominion has seen since the heroes of old. Adler is also the crown prince, raised safely behind walls by men and women whose only goal was to gain his favor, and his throne. So he's done with glory, comfort, and prophecy. At the end of the world, all he wants is a real friend. The bastard Evane is past his prime, and weak to stop the flames that engulf his homeland. In fact, he's already been burned by fire, and now walks mutilated and hated by the oppressive theocracy which promises equality and peace. But unable to fight and blessed with illegal magic, he's found the only way to put out the fire is to stop fighting with it. The Lamprey is a grimdark horror with graphic themes, including gore, violence, and trauma.
The Lands Between - Age of Dragons
Set in the war-torn world known as the Lands Between, this novel is based on the award-winning video game where the player is tasked with repairing the Elden Ring and becoming the new Elden Lord. To do so, the player must slay the demigods and claim the Great Runes - the largest shards of the Elden Ring which dictate the physical laws of the Lands Between. One major goal within the game is retrieving the Rune of Death and returning it to the Elden Ring, thus introducing death back to the natural order of the world. The Lands Between - Age of Dragons picks up where the game left off. The first seven chapters follow the stories of various characters, all inspired by characters I have played within the game. The motivations of the characters vary. Some work to claim the Great Runes for themselves in a bid for power. Others work to enact the will of the Outer Gods - extraterrestrial deities fighting for influence among the Lands Between. Their actions lead to a siege of the capital of Leyndell, where the Dragon King Cyrus slumbers upon the Elden Throne. Each chapter focuses on a specific character and is largely told from their perspective, although they do intertwine quite a bit, resulting in captivating storylines and epic battle scenes. Ember's fire doesn't stop growing in power and poses a threat for the very dragon that it lives inside, but external forces are also at work which will change her forever. Pressure continues to soar as the war continues to drive all the dragon species towards extinction, including her siblings. As three sides struggle to gain the dragoness' support; consequences of whatever choice she makes will ripple throughout her life and world.
