Danny is Dick's older twin brother, not that he remembers that. He doesn't remember much of anything, actually. Everything up until he was nine is vague and splotchy. This is what he does know Maddie and Jack aren't his parents, not anymore. They said Phantom stole him. Killed him, took his place, stole his life.
So Danny doesn't remember much, just that his real parents are dead and that he left something behind in Gotham.

Her twin brother on the other hand had no trouble killing anyone, which is why he was grandfather's favorite but her mother, Talia, loved her and her brother equally. When her brother and her were five, her grandfather decided that he didn't need the weaker twin and order her brother to fight her to the death, and he won, or so they thought. Her mother put her in the lazarus pit when everyone was asleep then took her to Amity Park to Matthew Fenton, her old friend, to raise her as his own and he did. The Phantom Robin
Danny wasn't a Fenton. He wasn't their original child, in fact, he was their nephew. A nephew they lied to. They thought they were helping him, but all it did was cause him to resent them. Cause him to run away. He needed to fix this mistake he unknowingly made. Dick wasn't a Wayne, but he liked pretending to be. It felt better than remembering that he was abandoned by someone he thought he could trust. Someone he thought would never leave his side. Someone who wasn't there for their deaths. Yet, they couldn't stay away from each other for too long. After all, they were two halves of the same whole.
