"Can I kiss you?" he asked, his voice filled with longing
I paused, a blush spreading across my cheeks, surprised by his sudden question.
"Why did you wait so long?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Every minute was worth the wait because I wanted you to be fully convinced and ready for this," he said sincerely, holding my waist gently.
"Am I everything you imagined?" I asked, my eyes searching his.
"You are beyond anything I could have imagined," he answered softly, leaning in closer. "Can I?"

His arms wrapped tightly around me. I stopped struggling. His warmth, his scent... after four years, I finally felt at peace. My face was buried in his chest. "Why aren't you leaving me?" I whispered. He looked down, his gaze intense. "Because I can't," he admitted. "I'm not able to."
