Six years after her older sister, Joan, committed suicide, 15 year old Martha still does not know what truly happened to her sister. As she grows older, her curiosity grows faster. She must learn the secrets her mom has been hiding from her. But even after she understands what happened, she still knows something is being kept from her. When Martha starts high school, she dates the hotshot jock of the sophomore class, Kenny. All while this unfolds, Martha becomes a target of bullying and becomes suicidal herself. Her "dead" dad shows up one day to help, and Martha knows that her mom has been keeping more secrets than she could ever imagine.
