Lilli Shikabane is the daughter of a famous exorcist and member of the prestigious Shikabane clan. One day, her mom was called to work to deal with a demon without realising it was Satan thinking it was a low level demon and had allowed him to follow her home targeting her and the child, she was possessed by Satan and tried taking the child but the mother regained control shouting for her husband telling him to take the child away and return to his family's house, as he tried to do so the dad was cut on the arm in the process but he managed to get out and to his mother's estate, he rang up his wife's partner and told him to tell her supervisor that she's been possessed by Satan and to hurry.

Eventually the partner and reinforcements arrived but we're met with a burnt house and a barely alive wife who apologised for letting herself get possessed, her partner arrived at the estate and told the dad the news and handed over her wedding ring and a letter she had for him, it said to give the ring to their daughter and a portrait of her to the daughter as well, the dad slowly went into a state of depression over the years while caring for his daughter and eventually got into an "accident" going into the care of her uncle Mori which led to her dealing with situations she didn't expect to be in, only for a few years later be in the care of an old friend of her mom at six years old where she met his adoptive sons and grew up with and occasion
