"You think you bear control over your loyalty and the god that holds it?" The rot of blood was thick, along with a stale humor his voice presented in response to my rejection. "Your soul is of my essence....you, my ignorant child, have no free will. You follow me and live by my means, not Gaia's."

I shook my head in preparation for dispute, but was silenced before the thought of denial could even arise.

Once more, his sickening grin made my stomach lurch, "I could not claim you if she was your creator. You are mine and you will abide by the laws of my world. Say goodbye to your remembrances of warmth...because here, you will freeze."
