The tears fell, freely and unbidden. "It's over." The silence settled between us as those unconsidered words left my lips. His eyes widened as he glared furiously and I paralleled it. "You know what?" he said finally, breaking the silence. "Fine. Remember when you asked why you? And I told you, 'because you're you'? I take it back. Thirteen year old Jamie had been by his side as his best friend, and later his girlfriend one year later. He never realized how grateful she was for handling all his bullshit, especially the lies he told the press to get more attention, until he went too far and she walked out. Two years later, when she bumps into him at the same college he had transferred to, he isn't sure whether to keep her at arm's length or do everything he can to get her back, and she doesn't know whether to kick him where the sun doesn't shine or to give him one more chance he so awfully wants. Can their love for music bring them back together or will they blame it on everything they've been through instead?
