His grip on the steering wheel tightened with his knuckles but his voice remained calm almost too calm. "It's not a big deal." "Not a big deal?" I shot back, "Either you talk or let me outta this car." He mumbled something under his breath, the first crack in his façade of calmness. "Yuh being unreasonable," he said, his tone sharp now. My eyes widened in disbelief. "Unreasonable? Mi just ask fi yuh talk to mi as yuh girlfriend! Is it really too much fi ask fi a bit of communication?" The tension snapped like a rubber band. I was so out of it that I didn't even notice when the stoplight switched from yellow to red. Struggling to act on my fight or flight, I have no choice but to run straight into the car in front of me. I exit my vehicle, ensuring to put my car in park before hopping out, the person from the car in front jumps out at the same time.
