Some people crave for what they don't have, even if it costs your life.

But things are rigged; aren't they?

No matter how much you sacrifice, the results will be the same.

That's why people don't try.

Today I want to die. Not because of anything in particular or specific, but just because the utter thought of ceasing to exist sounds devastatingly euphoric. To make the noise stop. To stop this stabbing pain in the lowest pit of my stomach that's causing a burning sensation that crawls all over my skin, making me want to peel it off. To stop the guilt that festers every time I take a breath-- an oxygen thief. To stop the constant urge to detonate over anything and everything that dares to love me because in all-- I could never deserve such an honor. Today I want to die. For the longest time, I thought I was just unlucky. That sometimes life doesn't work out for everyone, and for people like me; things just never get better. I had settled into the life of being unlucky, reveled in it, and found comfort in knowing that no matter what; I would just be categorically unlucky. That was until I realized luck had nothing to do with it. It's karma. It's the idea of what goes around comes around, and what goes up must come down. Didn't some philosopher speak to that once? However, it isn't my karma. Well it wasn't at first-- somewhere down the line after all my wrongdoing I'm sure it has switched to mine. But I am the poor soul stuck with my father's karmic retaliation. The karma that he deserves has been thrown against me as some sort of sick cosmic joke-- I'm sure he'd actually celebrate and feast on the fact that once again, he still gets to hurt me even from his grave. Too bad I killed him before he had the chance to see. *Book One in the Karma Duet. Book Two is now in progress, titled: The Karma Study*

"Let me put this very clear to you, because it looks like you're not fully understanding. I paid for you to be my wife, meaning as my wife you'll do what I say because I paid for it. You literally sold yourself to me, so now you're mine. Here take your check." He tossed the check to my face, by now I was making the biggest effort to not cry in front of him, but he wasn't over, he continued. "What were you expecting? This is what gold diggers like you get, money has a price and now you're paying yours.... Enjoy your money wife." And walked away, leaving me in the big living room speechless and watery eyed. I didn't move for probably twenty seconds, I never expected this. The amazing cover was created by: @bellegrace97 *****IMPORTANT PLEASE READ****** This book has strong scenes of physical and verbal abuse, read at your own risk. If you have a hard time dealing with this topic please do not read, and if you do please refrain yourself from leaving comments about how wrong violence is, we all know violence is unacceptable in any way shape or form. Never my intention writing this story was not to encourage violence or make anyone believe this is aceptable in a relationship. Once (1) in this story the word "rape" is mentioned, as part of the characters foreplay, not actual rape. However some some might feel is best not to say it in hopes to make this go away. If we don't say it we will prevent it from happening, kind of thing. If reading this word once triggers you just one bit please do not read this story. THIS IS JUST A STORY and my only purpose writing it was to ENTERTAIN not educate teenagers on basics values that should come from home on the first place. If you still find the need to waste your time and comment saying this book is delivering wrong ideas your comment will be deleted with the purpose of not ruining other people's experience. Before you start reading be aware that EVERY NEGATIVE AND OFFENSIVE COMMENT WILL GET YOU BLOCKED.
The Bird People by WendyyWolfe
19 parts Complete Mature
In 1600s Virginia, a small colonial village sprang up unceremoniously on the sacred burial grounds of the Native American people it was taken from, the Nottoway. Now, an ancient evil has been awakened in the form of Elementals known as The Bird People and it is suspected that the Nottoway Tribe has cursed the ground in revenge for being encroached upon by colonial settlers. After failed crops, still births, deaths, burnt homes and facing starvation, superstitions run rampant and the townspeople do the only thing they can think of in the late 1600s to appease these angry and destructive spirits. Give them an offering. It is quietly decided by the elders of the community, in an effort to keep these spirits of the bird people at bay, that every woman should give up her first born infant daughter to them. One such young mother cannot bear this resolution much less imagine giving up her only child. In order to keep her only child, a daughter, she makes a baby out of straw and gives that instead, bringing chaos to their puritan village. A cursed girl. The man who loves her. A questionable death. Native American Lore. Elemental Guardians. A village built on sacred burial grounds. What could go wrong? -An ONC Shortlisted Winner- -ONC Ambassadors Pick- MAIN PROMPT No. 56 In a world where humans and magical creatures coexist a detective must solve a murder case that threatens to plunge the two communities into war. **My twist of the prompt is that the 'other community' are Wendigos. Wendigos are similar in effect to Skin-Walkers. Ⓜ️𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 Will include: Paranormal Activity, Ritual Activity, Superstitions, Early American Colonial Life, Native American Lore/Subjects, Descriptions of child birth and death. Maybe some difficult situations.
