Riley Brooks, a waitress wishing for adventure but stuck in New York, barely getting by and wondering where it all went wrong.
Prince Liam, from Cordonia, with everything he could ever wish for, all except for a fiance that he gets to choose for himself.
And Drake Walker. The prince's best friend and bodyguard. Who knows what he wants?

What Riley does know is that she didn't plan on becoming a member of the royal court, or having to compete for the Prince's hand in marriage, sponsored by the most stuck up noble in Cordonia and his energetic younger brother.
What she does know is that she can't seem to keep away from the Prince's best friend, no matter how hard she tries...

A word she had longed to hear, yet feared the most. Would he accept it? Or would he push her away again, just like before? The door creaked open. Her heart pounded. Sharad's sharp gaze met hers. "What are you hiding?" Her breath hitched. She wasn't ready for this. Not yet.
