A fissure in space, that seperates our known universe, and theirs: a universe that existed before ours, but one that couldn't be more different, with no law-abiding societies, countless warring races, and the threat of their whole existence being plunged into eternal darkness and chaos.
Hess is one of the residents of this universe of chaos, an abandoned child forced to grow up under servitude to a Flare-catching cartel. But Hess's entire life is about to change, and his fate and the journey he will undertake to escape the chaos around him, will be intricantly linked to the fate and future of his entire universe, the original universe, and the Veil itself......All Rights Reserved

The story takes place in a small town surrounded by forest near the Oregon-California border. Of course it does, after all, the highest concentration of Qi is found in forests where ancient redwoods grow. You might be wondering, what is Qi? In Japan it is called "ki," and in India, "prana"." The ancient Egyptians referred to it as "ka," and the ancient Greeks as "pneuma." In Africa, it's known as "ashe" and in Hawaii as "mana." Qi, Prana, Ki, call it what you will, this energy is the life force itself.

Alas, we speak of a rare time where one of the two AVG's take a break. A break....in the distance stars, one with aliens, humans. And parasites. Nothing new, right? Well, yes. After all, what is there to fear, if you were the fears nightmare? 8023, June 23rd. A gateway long forgotten in the void reactivates accidentally, and, it just so happens to have been near earth....
