After the battle of Endor, the Empire was not defeated but Reborn. The jedi Luke Skywalker joined his father and the Emperor, crushing the rebel alliance once and for all. Leia Organa and Han Solo, the last of the Resistance, fled to the Unknown Regions in hopes to rebuild. To protect their only son from the clutches of the Empire, they left him on Cornelia. Years later Ben still resides in Cornelia, having met Hux who soon became his friend. Ben only hopes for freedom for both of them, doing whatever it takes. He soon gets an opportunity of a lifetime, but not all opportunities lead you to freedom.

Meanwhile, Hux misses Ben as much as Ben misses Hux, but he also meets new friends as he goes through his final year of college and grows into an adult. Each other's absence helps one another become independent and it only makes their reunion with their friends, their family and each other only sweeter.
