Echoes of Home

A man from Earth finds his way to a game world, full of magic, monsters and battle, and finds his way out again, bringing his native miqo'te bride with him. But you can't go to a game world and come back unchanged. Earth is no longer his home, and it was never hers.

A serialized story based on the online game Final Fantasy XIV, told in journal entries reflecting each of the characters' points of view. Set in modern-day Oklahoma, it's the story of a married couple -- artisans, explorers, wielders of weapons and magic -- together facing a world that has no idea what they are and what they're capable of.

(Knowledge of FFXIV and online roleplaying games in general is useful but not required to enjoy the story.)
