A man from Earth finds his way to a game world, full of magic, monsters and battle, and finds his way out again, bringing his native miqo'te bride with him. But you can't go to a game world and come back unchanged. Earth is no longer his home, and it was never hers. A serialized story based on the online game Final Fantasy XIV, told in journal entries reflecting each of the characters' points of view. Set in modern-day Oklahoma, it's the story of a married couple -- artisans, explorers, wielders of weapons and magic -- together facing a world that has no idea what they are and what they're capable of. (Knowledge of FFXIV and online roleplaying games in general is useful but not required to enjoy the story.) "We are storytellers. Some of the stories we tell are true." -- Tsu'na Hyurcat "For the sake of the world, let's try not to die." -- Steve Hyurcat Top Pick for Love Across Borders in @fanfic's Ultimate Fanfic Anthology https://www.wattpad.com/1524730561-the-ultimate-fanfic-anthology-love-is-love-top FINAL FANTASY is a registered trademark of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd.

A slice of life from a trainer who lived all his life in the rural countryside of Kentucky finds himself stepping off a plane in Japan from overseas, looking for purpose. Possibly already passed his prime and looking to see the world through a window of what he knows, not the best he can give these girls, but the only thing he's been taught by those before him at a young age. From a friend who offered him employment across the ocean. Now he gets to work with unusual new people and train horse-girls once more with highly mixed results. On top of the fact his Japanese is rather poor and his training style reflects a different culture unfamiliar to Tracen Academy. Can he succeed just like before? Can he actually put time to learning foreign languages? And can he not mess this job up? Also, does Japan have the elixir to cure his bad back, or perhaps someone could lead him to a miracle?
