She is blamed by her brother and everyone else that she killed her parents, but she didn't and her brother is the only one that knows the truth. He doesn't do anything about it because he doesn't want to lose his status by helping her. She has been teased about everything to her weight and complexion to killing her parents. Her pack abused her she wasn't really bothered by it but this was before the found her mate. Of course it had to be the biggest player and the soon-to-be Alpha of the Firemoon pack; she is excited that he can stop this. But he doesn't.
Caleb Johnson is 18 and Soon-to-be Alpha of the Firemoon pack. He is what every girl wants to be with. When he finds out his mate is Taylor he is happy that he found his mate yet sad at the same time that his mate is not the "Perfect popular" girl he envisioned. She's the broken girl who killed her parents. He would go to the bottom of the popularity list if people know they are mates.  So he did the natural thing, he rejected her.
