This story is about a man named Xicor and his unlikely friendship with the dreaded Callisto. One day while wandering through the forest, Xicor encounters a battered and bloodied, Callisto, who just barely escaped with her life intact after enduring another battle with Xena. Callisto immediately collapses right in front of Xicor and she is taken back to his home where she has her wounds attended to. Upon waking up and knowing of her past, Xicor tries to reach through to Callisto seeing she's not entirely a monster and can let go of her resentment towards Xena. Callisto fears letting go and becomes conflicted with Xicor's compassion towards her. Is Xicor right? Can Callisto change and lead a peaceful life? After fighting to save Aurora and taking down the vengeful daughter of Velasca, Gabrielle is gravelly injured. But Xena is still determined to save Gabrielle's life and return her title when she does. Though Xena's friends a large number of the villagers don't agree with Xena being queen due to her not being an Amazon at all. And state that they will not accept or follow Xena's rule. But when a new threat comes for the Amazon's, (unknown what yet) will the naysayers to Xena's position rally around their new queen? Or will Xena's past make her powerless in her role as leader? And lead to an unimaginable tragedy for the Amazon people.
